New Micro.........

Esperia sulphurella

This day flying micro was caught today and is #649 Esperia sulphurella. A tiny moth at only 7mm long and has bright yellow hindwings in flight. Thanks to David for confirmation.
The catch for 21/04 was just 2 Hebrew Character as temperatures dropped to 0°C.

  1. Nice one Matt. This species breeds in my garden, in one of my log piles.

  2. Hi Dean,

It seems like there are a few day-flying micros around at the moment. They're very good at avoiding the camera too!

  3. And being potted up.
Yeh, it`s the start of me going out laden with pots/tubs, chasing the micros around. I/we must be mad ;-)
