Hatch Plantation 11-06

We decided to drop in at Hatch Poplar Plantation as there had been reports earlier in the day of Hornet Moths on some of the tree trunks. Unfortunately I think we were too late, as we couldn't find any. Early morning is probably the best time and you can expect to find them between 2 and 3 feet up from the ground on the bare trunks. I did bring a sweep net just in case there was anything else interesting.........And there was.
1167 Gypsonoma aceriana
Only the 5th county record (VC30). The last time it was caught was 2001.

 Clouded Border
These were absolutely everywhere, we counted at least 10.
