Garden List 19/07.......

These days it's not that often that I get 2 brand new garden macro moths in a night. But despite the fact it was well below average for the time of year temperature wise, that's what happened. I also recorded a new micro as well.
Scalloped Hook-tip
These are apparently quite common- except in my garden.

 July Highflyer
Last year I caught 3 May Highflyers and no Julys. This year seems to be the other way round.

 888 Mompha propinquella
A garden 1st for this striking micro.

  1. Lovely propinquella, had my first this year as well, Scalloped Hook-tip is chiefly a Woodland species and so it doesn't appear much in gardens (seen it in 10's in woodland but never in any of my gardens), well done!

  2. Need the hook-tip in my garden as well but had plenty of July Highflyers here (7 in 2010, 4 so far this year). Andy
