A site dedicated to a homemade garden Moth Trap and the amazing contents found within. My interest was sparked in 2009 by my then 4 year old son, Louie. He and his sister Keely help me in the mornings, photographing and releasing the contents of this Bedfordshire trap. I hope you enjoy the Blog!

What's this?
I think the odd one like this my have evaded my detection before.........this is very worn, but was on the small side compared to most Willow Beauty's I've seen and definitely brown rather than grey.
I would think the two black marks beside each other on the right wing and the hint of these being part of two lines across the whole forewing indicate it ia a Willow. Shape and antennae look right as well; I only get grey and occasional black individual myself though never a brown one

ReplyDeleteKnackered Wilow Beauty - certain.
ReplyDeleteThanks- I didn't know WB was available in brown! Must be pretty unusual?
