More Late Stuff..........

..........And with the Iberian conditions continuing  until the weekend at least, who could bet against more migrants and odd late records turning up?
After other VC30 moth-ers have continued to catch migrants such as Gem and Scarce Bordered Straw, I have kept just one trap on over the last few nights just in case. I have still yet to record a 'blank', which is pretty good considering we are edging towards mid November.
Only two moths last night- 874 Blastobasis lacticolella and this-

Large Nutmeg
This has to be the latest VC30 record so far this year- In the books, the flight time is June and July!

..........5/5

Things have suddenly started to hot up; after a couple of cold windy nights the moths have upped their game and a whole load of new species have sprung into action.

Vine's Rustic
Totally expected.

 Scorched Carpet
Totally unexpected, rare in my garden and only the second record after a second flight last year.

 Eyed Hawk-moth
What a beauty!

 Setaceous Hebrew Character
As expected slowly replacing the now waning Hebrew Character.

 Large Nutmeg
Will probably reach plague proportions in a few weeks.

 Shears
A good one to get in the garden. Second record.

The results for the day also include some garden sweeping during the late afternoon and evening with the kids on above post- 50 of 26 Species-

More Unconfirmed........

Due to work commitments I've had little time for blogging. I haven't had a lot of time to look up some ID problems either, so I wonder if anyone can help.....?

Mystery?
About the size of a Shuttle-shaped Dart but shorter and stouter looking. Very worn.....

Large Nutmeg?
I caught 2 of these last night, the other one showed slightly more white on the kidney mark.....
