More Late Stuff..........

..........And with the Iberian conditions continuing  until the weekend at least, who could bet against more migrants and odd late records turning up?

After other VC30 moth-ers have continued to catch migrants such as Gem and Scarce Bordered Straw, I have kept just one trap on over the last few nights just in case. I have still yet to record a 'blank', which is pretty good considering we are edging towards mid November.

I didn't trap on the 2nd as temperatures plummeted, I probably won't tonight either as some areas of the region will approach 0°C. Although windy, the 2 days previous were quite good with 11 new species added. Nothing unexpected but nice all the same with another new micro for the garden life list.

Mottled Rustic

When I saw this, I thought it was another Pale Mottled Willow. They do look similar, but this is darker with a larger stigma..........

Silver-ground Carpet

After seeing a few at Broom GPs, it was nice to finally get it in the garden.

I potted this and got an acceptable photo- I think it's Choristoneura hebenstreitella (983) but I'm open to a more learned diagnosis?- Thanks David!
